Over the past six weeks or so, we have been getting adjusted to our new lifestyle. With this came new routines, new habits, new goals, new behaviors, etc. With this in mind, I want to share my new (and elevated) weekday schedule and routine.
My Morning Routine
Three to four days per week, I wake up about an hour early. During that hour, I head directly to the living room and put in an exercise dvd. As much as I would like to head over to the gym, I don’t. It’s usually dark out and I simply don’t want to be out int he dark alone. So, I skip the gym and do a dvd.
Over the past few weeks, I have been alternating between the original 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels, Power Walk from the Biggest Loser, and Leslie Sansone: Walk to the Hits Party Songs. Each of the dvds were less than $10, burn calories, and are an easy fun way to get the morning started.
Right before I begin my exercise, I take my supplements which include the Reshape Me Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies, Reshape Me Turmeric & Ginger Gummies with Black Pepper, and a one a day women’s vitamin. In the past, I would drink turmeric tea, but for now, I’ve switched to the gummies. These supplements play a huge role in detoxing my body, weight loss, and elevating energy levels.
After about 30-45 minutes of the dvd, I head to the bathroom to get myself cleaned up and ready for the day. During this time, I put on a motivational video from YouTube. I usually do not finish this while I’m getting dressed, so I pause it and finish listening to it on the way to work.
Office Routine + White Space
When arriving at the office, I work through my day according to my Outlook Calendar. However, I do take advantage of daily white space to do my gratitude journaling and manifestation scripting. All of which is a very important part of my day.
If you are uncertain about what white space is at the office, check out this YouTube video. In short, it is small amounts of time throughout your work day to rest your mind from work.
According to WhiteSpace at Work CEO Juliet Funt, oftentimes the key to accomplishing more is to momentarily do less. A strategic pause, what she calls “whitespace,” taken between activities to recalibrate and recuperate can help you reclaim lost productivity, creativity, time—and money.
How Do You Spend Your Lunch Hour?
In the past, I would use my lunch to eat or run occasional errands. I don’t focus my lunch hour on eating anymore. I use about 15 minutes to eat something light and then I use the other 45 minutes to do something productive such as running needed errands, reading, and/or writing. I really like to make sure that the hour isn’t wasted.
Today for example, I used my lunch hour to update my new Etsy shop. All of my Secret Santa Questionnaires are now in one place – on Etsy for only $2 each.
Afterwork Duties
After work, I dedicate a great deal of my time to my family. I am doing pick ups from afterschool programs and activities, making sure that there is a plan in place for dinner, having chats about what went on throughout the day at school/work, etc.
Sometime after all of that, but before bed, I write out blog post ideas, or even full posts in my Google Docs and usually schedule these out on the weekends. If there are slower times throughout the week, I give extra attention to writing assignments.
A Few Minutes Before Bed
A few minutes prior to going to bed, I like to listen to 15-30 minutes of meditation music from YouTube. The hertz depends on what I feel that I need in my life at that moment. Sometimes, I may feel that I need to raise my vibration, so I will listen to something along those lines. Other times, I may feel that I want to listen to something to attract success. Each evening is different.
A Note on Social Media
Since returning to the office full-time, there hasn’t been much available time to keep up with social media. So, it’s taken a backseat in my life. Every two weeks or so, I come up with a reel or a post. But, because I know I dn;t have the space and time for it, I’ve put my Instagram on private, so that I don’t feel the pressure to post often.
At some point, I may be able to be consistent with it again, but right now, “real life” has taken priority – not so much as the “highlight reel” of life.
Reading, Reading, and More Reading
Another reason why I haven’t been able to keep up on social media is that I have been reading A LOT. I finally purchased most of the books on my 2019 reading list and have been committed to reading those. So, if there is any free time left in my day, those moments are spent reading or looking at quick financial literacy videos on Pinterest.
I’ve learned a great deal of financial knowledge over the past few weeks, as well which is really helping us shape up our long-term financial goals.
Final Thoughts
Well, there you have it; a peek into my new and elevated weekday schedule and routine. What does your weekday routine look like?
