The LARQ Water Bottle Review: As Seen on Shark Tank

If you are unfamiliar with LARQ, you may remember seeing the idea being picked up on Shark Tank. If you’ve never seen the episode, check it on here.

In a nutshell, LARQ has produced a self-cleaning bottle with instant water purification. It’s the world’s first self-cleaning water bottle with LARQ’s proprietary and patented UV-C LED technology which eradicates up to 99.9999% of germs, bacteria, and protozoa.

It’s important to keep in mind that the LARQ bottle doesn’t remove heavy metals and fluoride.

60 Seconds…

In just 60 seconds after pouring water into your LARQ bottle, it is purified. To purify your water after filling your bottle, you simply press the top of the bottle which has a button with UV-C light.

Amazingly, one charge will last one to two months which is appreciated but the cap must be charged first using the provided USB cable.

How to Purify Your Water

Note that there are two purifying modes available on LARQ water bottles. Press once to purify your water if it’s water from a trusted source. This takes about 60 seconds.

However, you must press twice for Adventure Mode when your water needs extra purification. This takes about three minutes. Adventure mode sets your bottle for extra purification power so that you can drink water no matter where you are. I appreciate this so much not only for our camping and hiking adventures, but also for our travel adventures.

I can’t tell you how many times that we have traveled and we weren’t familiar with the water system, so we avoided water until we could purchase bottled water, which isn’t the most eco-friendly option.

I Wish I Would Have Had the LARQ Bottle When….

A perfect example of this was on our Max Tour where we visited Seven Magic Mountains, Hoover Dam, and the Grand Canyon. Had I had my LARQ bottle with me on this trip, staying properly hydrated through various climates and locations would have been easier because I could have filled up my water from various fountains along the way. Not only this but, the bottle is double insulated and keeps cool for 24 hours.

Another example is when we travel to West Virginia. My mom always gets frustrated by the change in water taste and often wonders about the water quality along the way of our road trip. Having had this bottle on our road trips would have been ideal.

While it won’t change the taste of water, it will purify the water. Thankfully, we have it now and it solves the problems that we have encountered regarding purified water.

Final Thoughts and Additional Features

I am in love with the luxuriousness of this bottle. Everything from the beautiful Himalayan Pink color, all the way to the beautiful and secure packaging which included the bottle, a white USB cable, and two small pamphlets; one with additional information and another with proper care instructions.

Aside from Himalayan Pink, these bottles come in a number of colors such as black, white, and blue – just to name a few. The bottles are also durable and have a modern and sleek design. And, while this LARQ bottle is 17 ounces, they are available in 25 ounces and are BPA-free.
