Tips and Secrets for Those Who Want Salon-Style Hair

Going through the pandemic was hard on a lot of men and women when beauty shops and barber shops were closed, me included. So many of us had to learn to do our own hair. In the midst of that, we had to experiment with new hair care products and tools that we found in Walmart or Amazon.

With this in mind, and it being National Beauty and Barber Week, I want to share some tips and secrets for those who want salon-style hair if you can’t get to a salon right away.

Know Your Hair Type

Getting to know your hair can easily stop you from wreaking havoc on yourself. Before you pick up a heating tool, you have to learn how to distinguish your hair type.

Hair normally falls into two categories. You have fine and you have thick.

Your hair is fine if you have a single strand that is rather difficult to see, or if you struggle with maintaining volume. You have thick hair if your hair is courser or if you feel as though bobby pins are just not enough for you to hold your style in one place.

Get a Good Haircut

Normal haircuts don’t just remove any split ends. They can also make your hair appear way thicker and they can make it look full of life too. A good haircut can also provide you with a good foundation for just about any hairstyle you want.

If you have flat hair and you need more bounce, then you may want to try and frame your face. Short, soft layers are the best way for you to go if you want volume.

When it comes to thick hair, it’s been said to try and avoid shoulder length-cuts. These are boxy and chunky. If you struggle with your hair because you are balding or because you have very, very thin hair then Perfect Hair can help.

Choose Products Based on Your Thickness

The foundation for your locks begins with you using a good quality shampoo. You need one that is formulated for your specific hair type.

You also need to use a deep-conditioning treatment as this will give you a blast of moisture every week. One important thing for you to remember here is that different hair types have different needs, and what suits one hair type will not suit someone who has hair of the opposite type.

Become Savvy with Your Products

Styling products might well be different in nature. One thing is the same though, a little will certainly go a long way. You have to start with a small amount so that you can add more if required.

Hair gels tend to be quite liquid to the touch and they dry quickly. This leaves a shiny and wet-like appearance. They are ideal if you want to slick your hair down or if you want to define some of your curls.

However, hair mousse is munch lighter and it is a foam. It’s designed to give you lots of volume and you would be surprised at how much it could help you to get the best result out of your hair care routine.

So, do be afraid to experiment a bit and mix things up to see what works for you.
