I can’t believe we’re already five days into the new year and decade! It’s also the first Sunday of the year and time for me to post a new, What I’m Doing Now.
Let’s jump right in!
Wearing
Well, today I’m back in that blue denim shirt that seemed to show up on most of my 2019 Instagram photos. It also showed up on the blog a lot in 2019; so much so that I wrote a post about, My Weekend Citi Trends Denim Shirt Obsession.
It’s just something about it that I truly love. It’s fashionable, comfortable, and can be styled so many ways. What’s funny is that, one of my friends saw a photo of me in the shirt and texted me to let me know that the shirt was a dress and that I was just wearing it as a shirt.
I mean, that’s fine, too. I guess it just gives me another way to wear it that way – if I choose to?
Weather
Although we are beginning the month of January, the weather today has been beautiful. The sun has been shining all day and we have not encountered any snow.
Since the weather was so nice this afternoon, my mom and I headed over to Outback Steakhouse for lunch. It was nice to just hang out and spend some quality time together.
I told her next weekend, we would shoot for Olive Garden. It’s probably been years since we have been there together, or if we’ve ever been together?
Needing
For starters, I still need (two) 18 inch or 19 inch ring lights and a new tripod for my camera. I was taking some photos this weekend and one of the damn legs broke on the tripod.
I was thinking… Are you seriously kidding me right now?
Oh well.
Aside from being a bit materialistic, I really need to organize some papers, cards, family history, and random memorabilia that I have in several totes in the closet. I cannot continue to live my life like this – with so many totes of unorganized stuff.
So, I’ve been searching Pinterest for organizational hacks and ideas on organizing papers aside from the post written on how to storage and organize the kids school papers, School Year Storage.
But, I guess it’s simply just a matter of getting it done. This will be my plan of action for this coming week. I’ll write it out in my planner and keep you posted on how it goes.
And, if you have any tips, please let me know. I’m all ears… well, eyes. 🙂
Listening
Today I started listening to a new playlist on Spotify. It’s a new Daily Mix 2 that they created based on my song selections. I’m enjoying it. It’s a mix of artists like Adele, Craig David, Jon B., and Sam Smith – just to name a few. But, I’ve also been crushing on Sade’s Greatest Hits, Kem’s Promise to Love, and Adele’s 25 (as usual).
Right now, Best Part (featuring H.E.R.) is playing.
………“If you love me, won’t you say something?”
Mood
I feel pretty good and relaxed. I still have the Aromatherapy Positivity candle burning. It’s Grapefruit and Bergamot, and smells really lovely. I also have some Jasmine incense burning that my aunt sent me from Germany a few weeks back. I love a good incense. My favorite is Palo Santo.
My aunt and I write to each other as penpals and she always sends me such wonderful packages of goodies aside from her letter. In this most recent package she sent me the Jasmine incense, an assortment of delicious tea, a mini tote bag from her trip to London, a mini Christmas gift bag, and a large reindeer tote which I carried shopping in this post.
I love it all!
By the way, January is National Hot Tea Month, so stay tuned to the review of the tea assortment that she sent to me.
Thinking
I received a beautiful bouquet of flowers this morning. Gorgeous mini orange roses were mixed into the bouquet. The love I received makes me feel so warm and fuzzy and is sooo much appreciated.
Wanting & Reading
Right now, I want to spend the evening drinking a cup of tea and reading The Alchemist. I’ve had it on my reading list for such a long time. Then in December, I placed an order of three books from Thrift Books. The package was supposedly delivered, but I never saw it.
So, I ended up reordering The Alchemist from Amazon last week and it arrived today. My plan is to take a break from reading Unfu*k Yourself and read the entire book of the Alchemist before I return back to Unfu*k Yourself.
What’s on your reading list this year?
