What the Heck Happened in February?

A Couple Days in the City

It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of February. January seemed like it just came and stayed – while February was here and gone in no time. Does anyone agree? Anywhoo, as I was setting up my planner for the month of March, I asked myself, “Well, what did you accomplish this month?

So, I relaxed for a moment and went over everything in my planner and all the memories that were created in February.

Glam Labs Makeup Studios

For starters, aside from attending Glam Lab Makeup Studios in Chicago and taking my boys somewhere for Black History month, I really can’t say that I had many more goals. Reason being, January was a rough month for me. I felt like the stagnant, energy remnants of 2018 were floating into 2019 and things were not exactly fresh. I had a major problem with this.

On top that, I had planned to attend the It Works! Conference in Tampa for my birthday in January – and, that didn’t happen for various reasons. So, January was not my best month, nor was I at my best.

However, February brought a sense of a renewal.

I studied my vision board and got clear on the fact that I WAS going to spend a weekend in Chicago solo, have a great time, and complete the Glam Labs makeup program. And, I did it! Whoo! You can read more about that with the post, An Overnight Stay in Chicago.

Fun and Happiness

Following that weekend away was Valentine’s Day. Valentine’s Day was actually a fun day for me. The boys and I had a cute morning breakfast before heading off to school and work, and I received so many cute, little gifts throughout the day from various co-workers. I felt so special because it was all very unexpected.

The weekend following Valentine’s Day was also very fun. We took my little brother to the airport in Indianapolis and then headed to the Circle Centre Mall, where the boys experienced the largest arcade in Indianapolis for the first time. After that, we headed to Butler University where we learned about Mary Church Terrell for Black History Month.

Black History Month

Another added event we attended for Black History Month was a presentation by Ron and Angela Lewis from the Lewis Influence. This brother and sister duo shared how to be successful in college and in life. Both siblings are authors, and they spoke about the book, Gritty by Rodney and Ron Lewis.  The presentation was a great way to further talk to the boys about reaching their educational and personal goals.

Speaking of goals, I didn’t really set any goals for It Works! During the month of February; nor did I set any goals for my blog. Because, really the main thing was to make sure that I made it to Glam Labs. And, now that – that has happened, I can put a focus on my businesses for March.

What’s Going on with Blogging?

As we segway into March, you will see some blog changes . I am so happy to get this blog a face lift. I love pink, but I also enjoy other colors, so pink is no longer doing it for me. I’ll also be working with another company to clean up some bad links and SEO issues. I really want to get this blog jumpin’ in 2019!

My goal is to continue to post inspiring, fun, and helpful content at least twice a week and get the views back up. When I took that holiday hiatus, my numbers dropped dramatically. I couldn’t believe how much. So, now, it’s back to the grind with producing some interesting and fresh content. And, I am so excited about this!

It Works! Let’s Go!

Lastly, I am still doing It Works! I love the products and the motivation from all of the women I am surrounded by. My goal is to build a small Ruby team this month. I want a team who actually wants to work the business. From there, I just want to maintain that team for a while before trying to rank up, again.

Final Thoughts

To wrap up the month of February, I would say it was definitely a better month than January. I am grateful that I was able to finally make it to Glam Labs Makeup Studios – which I talked about a few years ago in this post. I am also happy that we were able to keep up with our tradition for Black History Month that I spoke about in 4 Things to Do for Black History Month.

Be sure to follow me on Instagram! You can get a peek into what’s going on daily instead of waiting until the end of the month!

Cheers to February! Let’s head on in to March!
