In just a few short weeks, spring will be here and I can’t be more excited! These recent winter storms and all of this snow has got to go! So, to note my happiness and preparation, I want to share with an early spring break capsule wardrobe that I put together online from rue21. I love that rue21 has affordable online shopping!

But, first, what is rue21?
If you are unfamiliar, rue21 is an American speciality retailer who offers affordable and trendy clothes for both girls and guys. What’s even better is that they offer trendy and affordable clothing in plus sizes, as well – which works great for me. In addition to this, clothes are designed to appeal to people who desire, wish, or feel to be 21.
Capsule Wardrobe Possibilities
A capsule wardrobe is a small collection of garments designed to be worn together which harmonized in color and line. While many capsule wardrobes include a mix of solids or neutrals, I chose a range of pretty pastels that pair perfectly with jeans, a jean jacket cover up for cooler days and nights, and a pair of sandals. Since this mix is only for four days, it’s complete.
However, if I were planning for extended time, I’d definitely add in a few more pieces including a pair of denim shorts, a skirt and a dress such as the Plus Blue Tie Dye Babydoll Sweatshirt Dress giving me several outfit possibilities from rue21 New Arrivals.
Where To?
Typically when we go on spring break, we head to the Las Vegas area or the Orlando area and stay for four days. The weather is warm during the early spring break weeks and there’s so much to do. For this capsule, I could definitely see us heading to Universal Studios Florida. It’s been on our family bucket list for a while.
With this is mind, let’s jump into this early spring break capsule wardrobe.
Day 1 – Plus Purple Tie Dye Lilo & Stitch Graphic Tee, Plus Light Wash Destroyed Jean Trench Jacket and Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short
The first outfit that I put together consisted of this Plus Purple Tie Dye Lilo & Stitch Graphic Tee, Plus Light Wash Destroyed Jean Trench Jacket and Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short. It’s so fun!
This outfit is comfortable and trendy, perfect for a day of walking through a theme park and stopping and taking photos at all of the hotspots throughout the park. In addition to this, this outfit can be paired with the Mint Flip Flops or a pair of tennis shoes depending on how much walking you would be doing.
What I also love about this outfit is that the denim jacket can be worn while it’s cooler out and taken off and wrapped around your waist if it’s warmer. Spring weather can be so tricky!
Day 2 – Plus Mint Butterfly Print Flutter Sleeve Top, Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops.
The next outfit is perfect for brunch! It consists of the Plus Mint Butterfly Print Flutter Sleeve Top, Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops. I chose the jeans in short because I knew with my height it would give me the look of capris, match casually with all of the tops chosen, as well as the denim jacket.
And again, if it’s cool, all I have to do is toss on the denim jacket – which makes this look a bit more relaxed. However, with the jacket over it, you can’t tell that the neckline is elastic and can be worn on the shoulders or off the shoulders.
Day 3 – Plus Blue Floral Print Peplum Blouse, Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops.
The third outfit from this capsule is the Plus Blue Floral Print Peplum Blouse, Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops.
Again, this outfit is similar to the one above and is perfect for wearing to dinner. I love that these tops can be dressed up with a variety of accessories from rue21 such as earrings, necklaces, rings, and even face masks.
Day 4 – Blue Tie Dye Nickelodeon Crew Graphic Hoodie (Guys), Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops.
For the final outfit, I chose the Blue Tie Dye Nickelodeon Crew Graphic Hoodie, Plus Ultimate Stretch Medium Wash Mid Rise Jeggings In Short and Mint Flip Flops. It’s always great to have a hoodie with you on spring break.
The only thing is, you have to order your correct size. I ordered from the Guys section and thought I would have to size down. That was not the case. The hoodie ended up being extremely tight on me. But, instead of exchanging it – it went to my son. He fell in love with it! And, now the rest of the fam wants one, too. Imagine taking family photos in these on spring break. How fun!
Final Thoughts
