Soul Therapy with Art, Nature, and an Indian Picnic

Happy Tuesday!

I have spent so much time writing reviews of places that I have traveled to that I have neglected to share how I spend some of my downtime with some of the most important people in my life.

So, today is just a break from the typical blog reviews and tips and a peek at how I spent one Sunday afternoon and evening with a few friends, Amee and Erica.

Amee and I went to high school together but didn’t spend much time together until after high school. We connected more later in life and spent a considerable amount of time together meeting and talking over the phone for hours about out goals and coaching each other to the finish line.

You can read more about what that was like for us back in 2014 right here on the blog with Wake Up and Be Awesome! Coffee and Coaching.

But since then, life took over and we hadn’t been able to spend any time together until this particular Sunday when Amee invited myself and her friend (my new friend), Erica to have an Indian picnic, paint, and enjoy the Wetlands and Boardwalk.

Ummm, hello, those are all some of my favorite things! Art, picnics, and the Wetlands and Boardwalk!

So, we spent several hours that Sunday evening talking about life, community situations and how to become more involved on a local level, eating our Indian food, discussing why the trunks of elephants should be upward, and painting a combined painting with watercolors.

Talk about soul therapy!

It felt so good to just relax, enjoy an Indian dish that I don’t have too often, and have positive dialog. These are the things I plan to do more of this year instead of so much travel.

Don’t get me wrong.

I LOVE to travel, but I also need downtime to recharge and feel grounded. Evenings like this are just the kind of grounding and recharging that I need.

How do you ground yourself and recharge?
