Today I Will Give Myself Some Credit

Back in February I came across a great deal for a sexy boudoir session on Groupon. While I was not where I wanted to be physically, I wanted the experience badly. So, I told myself I would purchase the Groupon, spend a few months working out and eating well, and then book the session.

A few months passed by and I received an email reminding me to book my session before it expired. Immediately I called to schedule the photo shoot. I had two options; take the only day available in June or forfeit my session.

Just Do It!

I chose the June session.

At that point, I realized that if I was going to do it. I had to be like Nike and “Just Do It!”. Instead of focusing on all that I was not and comparing myself to others, I focused on being the truest version of myself.

Aside from purchasing a new lingerie set, I carefully selected my most favorite articles of clothing and jewelry which includes my faux fur coat from my late aunt and my Jewels by Parklane Opera Pearl set  which is now discontinued.

The whole combination is so classy and makes me feel so amazing.

My plan for the photo shoot was to drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest the night before and also make sure that my hair, nails, and toes were done to my liking.

I did not focus on my physical imperfections such as the stretch marks on my tummy or the circumference of my thighs. No way! I am thankful for my body!

Instead I chose to focus more on things that I could control; most importantly my thoughts.

With all the reading that I have done on shifting my thoughts to positive ones, writing personal affirmations, studying the the law of attraction, and writing in my Positive Book of Aspects, I knew this would be the only way I would win at the photo shoot and do my best.

So, today I will give myself some credit!

Ladies, we have to stop beating ourselves up and comparing ourselves to others. Instead, we have to learn to love, value, and appreciate ourselves.

How can we expect others to love us, value us, and appreciate us if we don’t do it ourselves?

Exactly.

So, take some time and create a few affirmations and repeat them to yourself for at least 17 seconds (68 seconds if you can) and you’ll be well on your way to becoming your best self.

“Hold a thought for just 17 seconds and the law of attraction kicks in. Hold a thought for 68 seconds and things move; manifestation has begun.Abraham Hicks

Cheers! Let’s learn to give ourselves some credit!
