Updating My Office Space with Mala Igla Luxe Pillows

I love working in my office space, especially when it’s clean and organized. If you’ve seen my office space, primarily on Instagram, you may have picked up on the color theme.

It’s a mix of various shades of pink, blue and purple topped off in white. As long as I stick to these colors, all of the décor comes off without a hitch.

Recently, I decided to add a small humidifier and make some office updates with the décor. One of the items that I am most proud of is my Mala Igla Luxe Pillow.

Mala Igla Luxe Pillows

Mala Igla (meaning Small Needle) is an Indie textile brand dedicated to sustainably produced fabrics and zero-waste production. Each textile design is bespoke, individually made to suit the unique taste and style of each client.

Working independently or in collaboration with interior designers, architects, stagers and real-estate developers, Mala Igla is dedicated to experimental textile product design with a small carbon footprint.

What’s special about this luxe pillow is that it was custom designed by Anna Novakov the Senior Designer of Mala Igla. We worked together to create a design that I would love to enhance my office space.

Curious About the Process?

For starters, each design begins with a client meeting that includes a discussion about color palette, inspiration, mood, texture and style. This can be done through email

Once a brief is received from the interior designer, Mala Igla will begin creating several preliminary designs. These designs begin with watercolors, collages, drawings and other tactile processes.

Once this process is complete, three preliminary designs are then digitally manipulated ultimately resulting in a variety of sample textile designs for the customer to choose from.

Upon the customer making their selection, the designed pillow is shipped approximately three weeks later. Since this is a customized process, you have to be willing to be patient throughout the process.

My Custom Luxe Pillow

In my brief, I shared that I love a combination of light pink, lavender and powder blue. Pink has always been my favorite color. I also shared that I’m also a pretty upbeat person with high energy.

In addition to sharing some of this information, I picked out some previous designs that I adored from the Look Book.

Based on my colors, my brief and samples from the Look Book, I was pleased with my final design. It makes a lovely addition to my pink desk chair when I am working at my desk. It also makes for getting cozy when I am sitting on my pink couch.
