1 – Explore New Destinations with Mini Weekend Getaways
Embark on a weekend getaway to a dreamy town or city you’ve always yearned to visit. Research destinations known for their pink aesthetics, such as the Pink Elephant on Route 66, Charleston, South Carolina, or Palm Springs, California, boasting the vibrant pink architecture and breathtaking scenery.
Book a pink-themed bed and breakfast or boutique hotel for a relaxing getaway. Choose locations with outdoor activities like pink sunsets or even pink sand beaches such as California’s Pfeiffer Beach.
If you’re on a budget, opt for nearby destinations and seek affordable accommodations or camping options. Plan ahead, discovering charming towns within a few hours’ drive, to uncover new places and forge lasting memories.
If you are traveling with kids, seek out parks, kid-friendly attractions, and pink-themed spots that offer scenic views, outdoor activities, and delightful downtown areas to explore. Stroll leisurely with your little one, savor local cuisine, and create cherished moments.
2 – National Best Friends Day (June 8):
Although I would love to spend time with my daughter on this day, I am choosing to dedicate it to my lifelong friendships. National Best Friends Day (June 8) is the perfect opportunity to celebrate your closest companions.
Plan a day brimming with activities that bring joy to all. Consider indulging in a girls’ spa day, engaging in a pink-themed yoga or fitness class, or simply relishing quality time while catching up over a wholesome brunch.
If you can’t get to your closest friends, have no worries, simply plan ahead and send them some nice postal snail mail. Let this day be a testament to the bonds forged over time.
3 – International Picnic Day (June 18):
Savor the spirit of International Picnic Day alongside your daughter by organizing a delightful pink-themed picnic in a local park. Pack a charming picnic basket filled with healthy and kid-friendly finger foods, including sliced fruits, veggie sticks, and bite-sized sandwiches.
As you bask in the beauty of nature, relish quality time together, surrounded by the serenity of the outdoors. Let International Picnic Day be a cherished opportunity to bond and create beautiful memories with your little one.
4 – Visit the Malibu Barbie Cafe Chicago or New York City
Embrace your love for pink and Barbie by visiting the Malibu Barbie Cafe in Chicago. This pop-up cafe offers a whimsical pink-themed experience, complete with pink decor, Barbie-inspired treats, and Instagram-worthy photo opportunities. Don’t forget to capture memories with your loved ones while enjoying this unique pink paradise.
I can’t wait to update this post with a few photos, but of course, the visit will be its own post.
5 – National Pink Day (June 23):
Embrace National Pink Day by immersing yourself in all things pink. Wear your favorite pink outfit, decorate your home with pink accents, treat yourself to pink-inspired meals, and engage in pink-themed activities.
You can also create a delicious and healthy pink smoothie bowl, bake (or buy) pink macarons, or explore unique pink-hued foods like dragon fruit or pink grapefruit.
6 – All Things Fashion
This is an ideal time to update your wardrobe and feel beautiful. It’s a good idea to take inventory of your current clothes and identify key pieces that will enhance your style and boost your confidence.
During this month you can shop for sales, thrift stores, or online discounts to find affordable and fashionable (pink) items that flatter your body and make you feel fabulous.
As a bonus, find some coordinating matching pink outfits for you and your mini-me.
7 – Prioritize Health and Exercise in a Pink Way
While you are having fun and crossing things off of your list, be sure to incorporate a healthy lifestyle into your summer plans. Start each day with a refreshing morning walk or jog or join a pink-themed fitness class like barre or Pilates.
You can also explore outdoor activities like paddleboarding, tubing, hiking, biking, and/or incorporate your baby into your fitness routine with stroller fitness.
Finally, choose pink-themed outfits or accessories that will allow you to express your feminine side and make them even more enjoyable. This is exactly what I did when we went camping at Garden of the Gods; I work pink!
8 – Embrace the First Day of Summer (June 21):
Welcome the first day of summer with a memorable celebration. Plan a day at the beach or organize a pink-themed pool party with friends. If you are not planning on spending time with friends, hang out with your family.
For me, I plan to let my daughter splash in the water and play with some of the cutest pink pool toys. If nothing else, cherish this special moment as a family while embracing the vibrant energy of summer.
9 – Relaxation and Self-Care
With all of the running around, don’t forget to carve out moments for self-care and relaxation. Treat yourself to a pink-themed spa day, complete with pink-hued facials or pedicures.
Consider setting up a cozy outdoor reading nook on your patio with pink cushions and blankets, where you can unwind with your favorite books or magazines. Prioritize self-care activities that promote inner balance and rejuvenation – FOR YOU!
10 – Explore Local Gems and Local Calendar of Events
Discover hidden gems in your area that offer unique experiences. Visit local museums, art galleries, or cultural centers that may have discounted or free entry on certain days. Immerse yourself in the local arts and culture scene, expanding your horizons without spending excessive amounts.
You never know what you may find. For example, the Allerton Mansion just hosted a Pink Picnic with the Peonies with all things pink!
11 – Beach Bliss
Take advantage of the warm weather and spend a day at the beach. Pack a picnic, grab your favorite book, and soak up the sun’s rays. Build sandcastles, dip your toes in the water, or simply relax with the sound of waves crashing nearby. The beach offers endless possibilities for relaxation and enjoyment, all within your budget.
Consider wearing pink swimsuits, a pink beach towel, or other fun pink accessories. One year summer I toted a pink mini grill and cooler everywhere that I went. We had such a fun time with it. You can read all about it on the blog; BIC Flame Starter Review and Staycation Picnic.
12 – Outdoor Movie Night
Finally, host a memorable movie night under the stars. Set up a comfortable seating area in your backyard or find local outdoor movie screenings in parks or community centers. Pack some snacks and pink blankets, invite your friends or loved ones, and enjoy a movie experience like no other. It’s a fantastic way to bond with friends, make new memories, and relish the magic of cinema.
