Four Steps For A Fuss-Free Trip

Going on a trip can often feel like chaos if you are going with a family, friends, or to a new destination. Getting prepared way ahead of time is the best thing you can do to ensure that you don’t forget to do anything. Trust me. You will be able to have a smoother and fuss-free trip when you are prepared and equipped with just the right travel tips.

Prepare Your Transport

Your transport is a key part of your travel. Getting it booked ahead of time will ensure that you have a place on the plane, train, or rental car company. If you forget to book, then you might struggle to find a spot to get there. Therefore, your accommodation and activity bookings will be a waste of time and money. No one wants to experience this.

As a rule of thumb, you should always prepare your transport before you book other things. For example, one of my travel goals is to complete Route 66. In a previous blog post, Riding Down Route 66 in Needles, California, I ask you to envision me riding down Route 66 with my camper in tow with the bikes attached checking out the scenery.

With that vision and goal in mind, I have to make sure that my vehicle and camper are booked ahead of time and everything is functioning properly.

As an example, if you are hoping to transport a  flat tow jeep wrangler then you must check the bumper to ensure that it is stable enough to be pulled along. If not, the bumper could become damaged or fall off. These are things I have to consider when we rent our camper to go, if we have not already purchased one by then.

Write a Packing List

Whether you are packing an overnight bag or a large suitcase, it will help to have a packing list for smooth travel. A packing list should include everything that you need to pack in the travel bag as well as the suitcase.

When you have a list, there will be little chance of you forgetting something. Write the priority items first, as you could always buy a new top or pair of glasses when you are on the trip. The essentials not to forget to add to the list include:

  • Passport
  • Booking documents
  • Insurance
  • Money
  • Chargers
  • Mobile devices
  • Medicines

Plan Your Activities Pre-Trip

If you are going on a trip that involves day or evening activities, it can help to plan and book them ahead of time. As an example, you can check out, Our Las Vegas Itinerary where I have planned everything out.

If you write a list of what you want to do and do not ensure that it fits the schedule, then your trip may end up rushed and unfulfilled.

Additionally, pre-booking the activities will also ensure that you have a spot on the day you wish to partake in the activity. You will not want to leave dissatisfied, therefore our day long Max Tour which includes the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Seven Magic Mountains is already booked and confirmed.

Find Your Accommodation

No matter the length of your trip, you will likely require accommodation. Finding it ahead of time will not only ensure you have a place to rest but may also help you save money

Booking at the last minute can often result in spending more money. This is not fun. If you book one or two months before your trip, then you will beat the rush for those dates and likely acquire a good deal.

Final Thoughts

While these may be simple travel tips, they are very important travel tips for having smooth travel and a great time during your trip.
