So often we rush from one thing to the next and don’t take time to appreciate all the beautiful happenings that paved the road to where we currently stand. So, before I rush off into the August sunlight, I want to take some time to recap some of the cool happenings from July.
Travel and Adventures
During the first week of the month, I chatted a little bit about how to preserve your travel adventure memories using Presto Photo.
Cascia Talbert, Founder of Healthy Mom’s Magazine enjoyed that post so much that she shared it on Instagram! I was so happy that she did that. Speaking of Cascia, did you know that she recently wrote her first book, Taking Care of your Family’s Health and Well-being, Saints to Turn to and the Catholic Faith? Why not check it out on Amazon?
Towards the middle of the month, we took a Sunday day trip to Chicago, attempted an Urban Adventure Quest, and spent some time on Lake Shore Drive. Our trip to Chicago really made me happy and feel like we had some sort of summer vacation – even if it was only for a day.
#100HappyDays Challenge
Speaking of happiness, I started the #100HappyDays Challenge; and what I am finding out is that each day is not a full day of happiness, however, there are happy moments within each day. I have also noticed that journaling my days in my new Happy Planner Notebook allows me to be mindful of each day.
Back to School and Sports
Although, August is National Back to School Month, one of my sons started back to school in July, so we began a new bedtime routine using a white noise machine instead of meditation music from Youtube. But, really they are both fast asleep before we even get to his part because soccer camp and football kick their butts.

I spent two days on the Central Illinois Wine Trail with a co-worker, then turned around and went to a comedy show at Sleepy Creek Vineyards with a different group of co-workers, and then went to walk the vineyards one Sunday with a friend – just because.
Hey, speaking of “Just Because”…
Did you know that August 27th is National Just Because Day? That’s right! So, figure of something to do – just because.
I think I’m going to give out greeting cards to friends and family – just because. Plus, Dollar Tree just partnered up with another company to offer an amazing new selection of upscale greeting cards. But, I’ll talk more about that in August.
Have you taken time to reflect on your July happenings?
