My July 2021 Summer Lookbook & Recap

In about 40 days, summer 2021 will be just a memory. So, I’m intentionally working to create some of the best summer memories, especially after having such a hard past year and a half with the pandemic, being stuck inside, the loss of A’leigh, etc.

So, in today’s post, I’m happy to share some of July with you with as many photos as I can. The thing is – is that I planned to share full looks but got so caught up in living the moments, that I forgot to take a lot of photos. I mean, but that’s okay, too. 🙂

If you haven’t already checked out my June 2021 Lookbook and Recap, don’t forget to circle back around and check it out. In the meantime, let’s get into July!

Sit back and relax! It’s a long, fun one!

Water Sports and What I Wore

When June began, I started taking water aerobics and my youngest son started taking swim lessons. While I planned to continue the water aerobics, I didn’t. The days got busy and by the time it was time to wake up and go, I was dead tired.

However, during the first week of July, my high school friend and I went to the waterpark. It was so fun and relaxing. When we got to the waterpark, we realized that we were both wearing similar black swimsuits and the same floppy straw hats. It was high school cute and we didn’t even plan it!

We spent about three hours on the lazy river talking and laughing. We took photos with my disposable water camera that I haven’t developed yet. I can’t wait to see them!

Once we were done on the lazy river, we laid back in our chairs and masked our faces with sheet masks. It was so relaxing.

Random Work Outfit

In between our waterpark day trip and our Chicago day trip, I caught this random work outfit on my phone. It’s a typical Thursday/Friday type of outfit I wear.

Chicago Day Trip

The following Friday, the boys and I took a day trip to Chicago. I went to LifeClinic for a Chiropractic appointment, followed by a stop at Five Below and Hooters for the boys. Ha! Afterwards, we spent a few hours at the Morton Arboretum. The boys ran out of momentum on the hunt, so I ended up doing the final sculpture solo.

This was my first time shopping at Torrid. At the time of purchase several months ago, I was looking for a nice pink athletic outfit and found this online. I ended up buying it online and picking it up in the store. Here’s a similar three piece outfit from Torrid. I love the fit of their clothes and plan on shopping from them more in the future.

Crawfordsville Solo Trip

The following Sunday, I set out on a Sunday Solo Day Trip to Crawfordsville, Indiana to check out a few museums. Every time that I am on I-74 I pass the Carnegie Museum sign and always want to stop and never do. This time, I chose to check it out on my own.

While visiting Crawfordsville, I also visited a cute Consignment Boutique and the Rotary Jail Museum. Aside from a weirdo looking selfie (lol) in the Rotary Jail Museum, I don’t have photos of what I wore, however, I wore a previously shown outfit from rue21 (above).

Las Vegas Trip

The next trip was to Las Vegas. Thank goodness we were in and out before the Delta variant got heavy. Anywho, you can read about the initial three day itinerary here, but I’ll be updating it soon with all that we actually did – which was most of it. Here’s a glimpse below.

Luggage | Matching Mauve Weekender Bag and Backpack

Airport Look | Hey Arnold Shirt | Denim Jacket | Black Leggings | Straw Hat | White Shoes

Chapel of the Flowers & The Wynn Buffet | Simple White Wedding Dress from Amazon with Mix No. 6 Flats from DSW. Pearl Necklace, Earrings, Bracelet.

My goal for this was to get some fun tacky Vegas style elopement photos like this. That didn’t happen. We ended up with such a beautiful and elegant upgraded commitment ceremony due to some venue changes. We had the La Capella Chapel which is gorgeous!

Our officiant’s name was Jefferey from Chapel of the Flowers and he was great (ask for him)!

While I would have loved to have worn the AW Bridal dress from a previous collaboration, it was simply too large for my weekender bag and it would have been doing way too much. LOL. I did, however, where the snake print flats from DSW that I wore in that post (Inez Flat Mix. No.6).

Area 15 | Eloquii Polka Dot Jumpsuit

Max Tour | Blue Polka Dot Romper from Shein and Straw Hat

Dick’s Last Resort | Bird Romper from Shein

Pop Culture Walking Tour | rue21 White Dress | White Shoes | Straw Hat

Sunflower Solo Trip

The final trip of July was a Sunday Solo Day Trip to the sunflower field. It was so delightful. You can read about it here. I wore a yellow sundress from Shein with yellow sandals and the straw hat. I have lived in this dress (and hat) most of the summer. It’s cute, easy and fun to wear.

Final Thoughts & Fashion Nova Jumpsuits

Lastly, I’ve been preparing for the return to the office full-time. With that, I’ve been working on my fall wardrobe and recently ordered a few jumpsuits from Fashion Nova. While they have arrived, I have yet to open the package. I’m sure you’ll see all of that in my August 2021 Lookbook.

I also have some summer jumpsuits, dresses, and rompers that I still need to wear. The great thing is – is that we have about 40 days of summer left. The bad news is I’ll be working most of those days which doesn’t leave much time for fun outings and outfits. So, we’ll see what the next month or so brings.

A Word on Affiliate Links: This post does contain affiliate links to products mentioned. I don’t have partnerships with all of the brands mentioned, but I have included what I could find from my own shopping and favorite stores (Shein, DSW, Torrid, Eloquii, rue21, Amazon, Femme Luxe).
