It’s been about three weeks since I last posted a What I’m Doing Now post. As a matter of fact, the last one was What I’m Doing Now 1.11.21 – Decluttering. I have still been working on that, but I have not made as much progress as I had hoped for.

Decluttering and Deep Cleaning
However, I have made some. In addition to the progress that I have made, I have also deep cleaned the bathroom and redecorated it, along with giving the refrigerator a nice deep clean, too.
What’s been interesting about this process is that I decided to look up some YouTube videos on how to clean to see what kind of cleaning products people were using to get things the most clean. And, to my surprise, it has boiled down to one product. Baking Soda. Yep, that’s it.
So, for the refrigerator, I simply sprinkled Baking Soda on the shelves, sprayed them with a little water and let them sit a few minutes. From there, I took a cleaning sponge and cleaned them. And, that was that.
In the bathroom, I added some dawn and some lemon essential oil to the mixture and it cleaned the tub and shower walls so nicely. This combination is now my forever go-to.
Winning the News Break Holiday Contest
Aside from cleaning, I’ve been spending quite a bit of time writing for News Break. As a matter of fact, I was chosen as one of their 10 Holiday Contest winners with this article, 3 Trails to Visit After Quarantine: The Kentucky Bourbon Trail, The Donut Trail and Route 66. I was so excited! I won a nice amount of cash and some cool swag! All of which is always nice!
What I have learned about the program is that they take care of their creators. You are paid on time and incentives are nice.
So, if you are interested in earning some extra cash for writing, I encourage you to apply now before they have met their quota for creators.

Career Plan or Personal Development Plan
Next, there may be some changes on the horizon that are career related. With several changes taking place at work, I’ve been asked to work on my Career Plan, also known as a Personal Development Plan.
The great thing about this is, with my Lifebook, I already have a tentative plan. You can read about it here. So, I’m not too worried there.
On top of that, a few months ago, for professional development, I took a LinkedIn Learning webinar called How to Develop Your Career Plan by Career Cake. If you don’t have access to LinkedIn Learning, you can access the video here, How to Develop Your Career Plan.
In the webinar, you learn how to plan for your career one year, five years and 10 years out. In addition to this, you learn how to upskill yourself and make a Personal Development Plan (PDP).
So, if you are looking to make some changes within your career and need some direction, this will give you the start that you are looking for.

As soon as my birthday is over on January 31st, I am moving right into posting all things Valentine’s Day. Last year, all I posted was this Valentine’s Day Travel Gift Guide.
But, this year, I’m not only working on a new Valentine’s Day Gift Guide – that’s filled with health and wellness gifts, but I’ll also be sharing our kitchen basket and the love baskets that I’m curating for the boys.
