In February 2022, I was excited to learn that I had won Staff of the Year at work. Not only had the dedication paid off but the morning podcasts that I listened to without fail during the 30-minute commute did, as well.
Fast forward to 2023, when the local newspaper invited me and nine others to participate in a column called the Big 10 where we were asked to nominate someone other than a relative who had greatly influenced our success. I was elated to have been chosen and thought carefully about those who had made a solid impact on my professional success.
After considerable thought, I shared Jim Rhon and Bob Proctor. While both men have passed, their legacy and teachings continue to transform lives, just as they did mine. In my eyes, these two men were the people who had greatly influenced my professional success through their books and recordings.
In one particular YouTube recording, Jim Rhon shared the idea that everyone should read “The Richest Man in Babylon”, which I have learned has over 185k ratings on Goodreads. He went on to briefly summarize the book and explain why people should read it.
Afterward, I immediately felt called to read the book, only I didn’t purchase it at that time. Instead, I searched for an audio recording that I could listen to that day.
