7 Museums You Must Visit at Least Once

I’ve been seeing a lot of press about a new event opening in our town soon called, A Night at the (War) Museum based off of the hit movie, A Night at the Museum.

As I thought about purchasing tickets to the event, it dawned on me that I should do a round-up of seven of the museums we have visited and give you a few tips that I’ve gathered over time to ensure that you have a great time on your next museum visit.

Museum Visit Tips

  • Upon entering, ask if there is a scavenger hunt available. Scavenger hunts help keep my boys engaged and on the prowl while visiting.
  • Challenge yourself to learn something new that you can share somewhere or with someone else. Read about how visiting the John Dillinger Museum helped my son with his 5th grade homework assignment.
  • Take photos (if and when allowed) and take a small notepad to jot down anything you would like to remember and/or research later.

Final Thoughts

Although, it is said that the traditional American museum visit is on the decline due to more Instagram worthy museums popping up daily, like the Museum of Ice Cream, 29 Rooms, and The Color Factory, visiting a museum still remains a popular summertime activity.
