I haven’t had my nails done at the salon, nor have I been able to use my go-to Sassy + Chic press on nails thanks to a few (okay, three) random and very painful hangnails. Thankfully, I had some CBD salve on hand (haha – no pun intended) to help with the relief.
While hangnails have not been a part of my content, it’s currently a part of my life, and this is a lifestyle blog, right?
What’s a Hangnail?
Anywho, if you are unfamiliar or don’t know what hangnails are; lucky you. Hangnails are those irritating, jagged pieces of skin that horribly stick out from around the sides of your nails. And, although they are small in nature, they hurt like hell.
This week it has been hard for me to type, write, and heaven forbid, get my nails done. So, until my nails heal, I’ll be pecking around on the keyboard and avoiding any hand photos.
But, enough about the discomfort. Let’s talk about what I’m using to heal and give me some relief; 43 CBD Ultra Deep Tissue Salve.
Before I jump into what the product is, just know that I do talk quite a bit about CBD and hemp products here on the blog. I also offer reviews on the ones I love best, such as this one.

43 CBD Ultra Deep Tissue Salve
43 CBD Ultra Deep Tissue Salve is 43 CBD’s heavy hitter! The formula combines the active ingredients camphor, organic menthol, and organic eucalyptus to compliment the organic cinnamon, rosemary, and lavender oils that are used to create a similar version on Icy Hot. And, yes you can smell it loud and clear.
To provide relief and heal, I have been gently rubbing on a bit of the salve as I go about my day. While the hangnails are not gone, I am finding relief.
My right hand middle finger has been the worst. When I woke up yesterday, the tip of my finger was swollen and red.
After washing my hands and applying a few applications of the salve, the swelling has been reduced significantly, but it is not yet fully gone. At this rate, I’m sure this will be over in another day or two.
It is recommended that you apply the salve topically as needed to areas of soreness throughout the body and avoid using it for deep wounds.
According to 43 CBD, “for most people, a CBD salve provides natural relief from chronic pain. Many people report that it is more effective than traditional treatments like manufactured prescriptions, and people often appreciate that it is an all-natural option. CBD salve is infused with active cannabinoids, and they are then absorbed into the body’s skin.”

What is CBD?
CBD stands for cannabidiol – a compound found inside the cannabis plant. CBD isn’t what gets you “stoned” – that’s THC – and the majority of CBD products on the market are made from male cannabis plants (hemp), which contain little to no THC. And, yes, it is legal.
Final Thoughts
Lastly, aside from the salve, I do have one of the brand’s CBD tinctures, which I’ll share in a future post. In the meantime, I am going to relax and allow the natural medicine to get to work and heal these hangnails.
