Self-Care with Uncustomary and Warrior Goddess Training

When January 2017 began, it was our intention to set out and explore all 50 states. In just six months, we have visited 16 states in between school and work. And, for this I am extremely grateful.

My boys and I have set foot on the Mojave Desert out West and put our bodies in the water of the Gulf of Mexico. We’ve gazed at boats and birds from the Piers of Lake Michigan and traveled through the Smoky Mountains from the Tennessee side to the North Carolina side.

We’ve learned about gangsters of the 1930’s at the John Dillinger Museum and sat inside Muhammad Ali’s Childhood Home which has now been restored to a public museum in Kentucky. We’ve searched for dinosaur tracks at Moccasin Mountain in Utah and learned even more at Dinosaur World in Florida.

We’ve made memories that will last a lifetime and I am so proud of these moments we have lived and experienced together. However, life is changing and it’s time to slow down, both internally and externally.

Self-Care with Uncustomary

During this time, I have committed to even more intentional self-care. One way is by taking the free e-course through Uncustomary. Mary England, content creator at Uncustomary is passionate about making other people happy and teaching them how to love and accept themselves. She gets totally creative in her products and freebies, especially those geared towards self-care.

Last week I signed up for her free e-course and have enjoyed the daily tips and prompts for taking time out for me. So, far my favorite day has been Day 2, which was Saturday. Day 2 was all about pampering and gave five suggestions on what you could possibly do for yourself.

Pampering

For me, I used two gifts from my Canadian pen pal, Chamomile & Lavender Herbal Tea by Celestial Seasonings and a Life Brand Deep Cleansing Facial Sheet Mask, along with grabbing an April Bath & Shower Microfiber Hair Wrap from Dollar Tree to relax for the evening.

The hair wrap was perfect to keep my hair back during the facial mask and steamy shower. And, the tea was perfect to have as I read the free download from Warrior Goddess Training. One of my goals for this past week was the download and read the excerpt and then order the book this coming week. So, half of my goal is already accounted for.

The Warrior Goddess book, Warrior Goddess Training, takes the author’s core of her twenty-five-plus years of apprenticeships, living, and teaching and distilling them into ten lessons for helping women find their inner freedom.

By the end of the night, I felt so proud of myself for taking an extended amount of time out to relax, focus on my well-being, and set my intentions for the coming week.
