What I’m Doing Now: Work-Life Balance

As October is slowly coming to an end, I wanted to share a little bit of What I’m Doing Now. For starters, the month of October has been restful. It is exactly what I wanted it to be since the past few months have been a whirlwind with moving and getting settled into a new routine. Now that we have a handle on our daily routines, I can relax a bit.

Invest in Rest

One of the ways that I have intentionally taken rest is by taking a day off and doing all things that I wanted to do for myself. This included having lunch alone, visiting the arboretum, and also spending an hour in a quiet pod

If you have never heard of a quiet pod, it is a small room where you silence your phone, sip some tea, and relax. During that time you can nap, have a footbath, read, journal, plan, etc.

During my time, I sipped my tea, read, and did come gratitude journaling. It was such a relaxing experience. My plans are to schedule at least an hour a month to simply relax and reflect.

If you are interested in learning more about the experience in the quiet pod, check it out Invest in Rest on NewsBreak.

Self-Care Practices

Aside from intentionally taking rest, I have spent more time on self-care including some relaxing baths with some CBD bath bombs and foaming bubble bath. I even tried press-on toenails from KISS USA. All of which has been great in uplifting my spirits and feeling pampered and relaxed.

Putting the Work in Content Creation

Putting rest and relaxation aside, there has been a degree of work that has taken place such as creating some fun content for Femme Luxe with my Pretty Pastels: Femme Luxe Weekend Wardrobe Capsule. That was so much fun creating and shooting. I did another one last week for Halloween, but I wasn’t thrilled with the entire outcome, only some of it.

But that’s a part of content creation. Sometimes you get a masterpiece and sometimes, it just doesn’t go as planned and you have to roll with it. So, I rolled with it and kept going. My goal is to give the next haul some focused attention and really do a great job.

Femme Luxe isn’t the only partnership that I’ve had this month. I’ve also had the opportunity to collaborate with Groove Life on some Sweetest Day gift ideasKISS USA on a beautiful pink manicure and pedicure set, and Here Rope. All of which are great gift ideas for the upcoming holiday season.

My advice for holiday shopping this year is to go ahead and get shopping now. You’ll be surprised to know how many things are already being back-ordered and out of stock. Not only that, but shipping can take longer than expected, so be sure to order early if you are doing any holiday shopping this year.

National Infant Loss Month and National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day

Aside from this, October is National Infant Loss Month and October 15th was National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. I had a very emotional day on the 15th as the hospital had a celebration and called out our daughter’s name along with other babies who had passed over the year. The service was beautiful, but I was so hurt and sad on that day. We also let off our own balloons in her memory.

Sometime soon, I’ll be sharing the story of all that happened. My goal for that post is to share some information and warning signs that may help in the event you find yourself in a similar situation.

If you have ever encountered anything like this and question your fertility, I would highly recommend a Modern Fertility test. You can read about what to expect from an at-home test here on the blog. Very soon, I’ll be giving another update in regards to the test, results, and outcome.

Creating My 2022 Vision Board

Lastly, I spent a few evenings this month working on my vision board for Quarter 4 of this year and into 2022. I’m really excited about life’s new chapter and what it will bring. For this vision board, my theme is World Class Family Woman and I can’t wait to live out my vision. If you are new to vision boards, check out How I Create My Vision Board Every Year for some ideas.
